Security and Cryptography

Kurzübersicht Forschungsfeld

Das Thema Sicherheit spielt in einer immer vernetzter werdenden Welt eine besonders große Rolle. Sei es der Schutz der Privatsphäre bei Mobiltelefonen, die Gefahr eines Identitätsdiebstahls beim Online-Banking oder in sozialen Netzwerken, aber auch der böswillige Zugriff auf den Bordcomputer im Auto, bis hin zur Abwehr koordinierter Hackerattacken auf relevante Einrichtungen— diese Probleme betreffen jeden und sind allgegenwärtig. Um diesen und weiteren Fragestellungen zu begegnen, bedarf es viel Kreativität und das Hineinversetzen in die Angreiferrolle, um Schwachstellen zu erkennen und zu beheben.

Seit 2014 wird der Bachelor- Studiengang “Cybersicherheit“ in Saarbrücken angeboten. Mit dem CISPA wurde ein eigenes Forschungsinstituts für diesen Schwerpunkt gegründet. Ebenso wird am Max-Planck-Institut für Softwaresysteme und im Fachbereich Informatik in diesem Bereich geforscht.
